Mazima Research Consultancy (MRC) is a research consultancy firm registered with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB). We conduct high quality research and policy analysis to feed into evidence-based decision–making processes for sustainable economic growth and development. As such, we work with government and non-governmental policy stakeholders in East Africa, particularly Rwanda. We offer consultancy services in the areas of Economic Research and Policy Analysis; Monitoring and Evaluation; Project Development, Implementation and Evaluation. Our research team is diverse in expertise and experience and covers a wide range research topics including, but not limited to financial inclusion; financial sector development; agriculture, food security and rural development; poverty and inequality, climate change and sustainable development; gender and women empowerment; trade; private sector development; labor markets and migration.

We also offer training services in Research Methods, Statistical and Econometric Methodologies, Proposal Writing, Policy Analysis, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Data Analysis using STATA, EViews, SPSS, Microsoft Excel and R. Our approach is unique in such a way that we not only conduct research and policy analysis for our clients but contribute to building their capacity (through training) to enable them conduct policy-relevant research themselves. Our overall goal is to improve evidence-based policy processes in Rwanda particularly and Africa generally.
